Leadership
Keith A Volgman
Mr. Volgman has been active in commercial real estate finance for over 35 years. A native of suburban Detroit, Mr. Volgman’s mortgage banking production has been focused in the Chicago and Detroit markets, where he has originated hundreds of transactions totaling several billion dollars in commercial mortgage loans. He is an attorney and former banker. His education includes a B.S. from the University of Illinois, M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and J.D. from Northwestern University.
Mr. Volgman has been President, Chairman, and CEO of all companies in the NorthPoint Capital group of enterprises since their organization in 1998.
Frederick Miller
Mr. Miller has been financing commercial real estate in the Detroit metropolitan area for over 35 years. He has 25 years of experience as a mortgage banker and 10 years as a lender with Michigan National Bank, Manufacturers Hanover Mortgage, and USM Savings & Loan. He is a lifelong resident of the Detroit metropolitan area. He has a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University.
Originators
Paul Walschlager
Mr. Walschlager has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience, and has been originating loans for NorthPoint for the past 16 years. Prior to NorthPoint, he was a Senior Mortgage Officer at GMAC Commercial Mortgage (now Berkadia), with responsibility for commercial loan servicing requests, underwriting, problem resolution, and asset management for the Chicago CMBS loan portfolio. Prior to GMAC, he was an asset manager and workout specialist for Draper and Kramer. He has a B.S. from Illinois State University.
Mr. Walschlager has been based out of the Chicago office for 25 years.
Mike Elzerman
As a commercial banker, Mr. Elzerman has been financing commercial real estate in the Detroit metro area for over 35 years. Most recently he worked for TCF Bank. He has been particularly active in the Ann Arbor market. He has a B.A. from Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
Mr. Elzerman has been based out of NorthPoint’s Farmington Hills office since 2013.
Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens joined NorthPoint in early 2025 and plays an active role across multiples areas of the business. His responsibilities span the loan lifecycle, including performing underwriting analysis, coordinating closing requirements, overseeing property inspections, and supporting ongoing loan servicing. He has eight years of experience in the housing industry, including work as a contractor for the Chicago Housing Authority where he managed a team supporting voucher holders, as well as three years at All Chicago working to end homelessness through partnerships with city landlords and property owners. His broad industry experience and leadership background bring valuable perspective to the NPC team.
Tyler received his BA in Journalism from the University of North Texas. Originally from Texas, Tyler has called Chicago home for the past 12 years.
